Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Megan Miller. I've been involved with Track & Field ever since my parents took me to my first All Comer’s Meet at Hayward Field when I was just a toddler. Despite my parents’ love for Track & Field, I participated and competed in Gymnastics from the age of 5, up until 7th grade. Unfortunately, because of growth plate injuries in my wrists, I was forced to quit the sport. Because of this injury, I became involved with Cross Country in order to stay in shape. However, when track season rolled around in the spring of my 7th grade year, I realized that that was the sport that I was meant to do.
Since then I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to attend the State Track Meet at Hayward Field for the past three years. I won the State title in the 100m my sophomore year. This last season, as a junior, I won the 100m and 200m, and set a 3A State meet record in the 100m. I’ve also been named the Mountain Valley Conference Girls Track Athlete of the Year for 2015 and 2016!
Academics have always been important to me as well. Along with my track accomplishments, I’ve been able to maintain a 4.0+ GPA from my freshman year through my junior year. I’m not going to lie, some classes have been very challenging for me. However, whether it be AP U.S. History or Pre-Calculus, I put my 100% into every class I take. I’ve also been involved with Student Council since my sophomore year, and have been elected as ASB Vice President for my senior year!
I know there are many people that have the same accomplishments that I do. However! I have many characteristics that differentiate myself from others. For example, I have an insane addiction to the T.V. show “NCIS”, and have a deep love for goldfish crackers. My favorite color is tiffany blue, and I have an unhealthy obsession with editing, so don’t you dare use the wrong form of “their”!
But in all seriousness; I’m hardworking, respectful, coachable, and character is everything to me (in myself, and others). Thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
