Kati Thornton '14 Recruiting Profile

  Hi, my name is Kati Thornton I am 5'8 and 141 lbs. I competed in Competitive Gymnastics for five years and Competitive Cheer for two years. I was a cheerleader in school for my freshman year. Being involved in gymnastics and cheer has taught me good work ethics, and competitiveness. I have been competing in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track and Field since Junior High. My senior year I started concentrating just working on my Pole vaulting technique. This senior year I am still the high school record holder for pole vaulting in Bridge City Texas. My junior year I came in first in my district, second in regional and ninth in state.

     I always respect my coaches in every sport I compete in. I like to be the motivator in the sports I play, and I like others to motivate me. I like to encourage other people to work hard.  I am very competitive in every sport I compete in.  If you pick me you get leadership, dedication, hard work, and a good teammate. My team is important to me they are my family. I love to make people laugh, but I am also the one to be there for friends on serious matters. I am always a happy person, except when I am in game mode. I have been working on my Pole vaulting skills all summer long. My family has had to sacrifice for a personal trainer so I can better my technique. I will work day or night to perfect my pole vaulting skills. I have not narrowed it down yet for my major. I would like to attend a school that can offer the best academic facility for becoming a veterinarian and to excel in athletics. My realistic athletic goals are to play through out my collage years and to represent my collage that I attend.  Any assistance is needed for my family for pursuing my education.
