Jaeden Thomas
NCSA Client Recruitment Personal Statement
(updated February 8, 2024)
My name is Jaeden Thomas, and I am currently a Junior at Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth, TX, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. As an athlete driven to succeed, I consider myself an excellent candidate for high school and collegiate sports. I have an outstanding work ethic, academically and athletically, and often collaborate with my teammates. I also desire to motivate my teammates and myself to push beyond any limitations to reach our highest potential.
I value great study habits that include organization, discipline, self-motivation. I currently have a GPA of 3.6 and plan to become a member of the National Honor Society. I want to improve my grades to create an academic portfolio acceptable for college readiness, make a good working relationship with my coaches and teammates, and reduce my times in my track and field events (100m, 200m, and 400m). My long-term goal is to become a professional athlete and enter the medical field.
One of the most influential, decorated athletes I admire is Allyson Felix. I have observed similar qualities that my coaches, teachers, family members, and I recognize within me. I am a hard worker, an omnivert, energetic, passionate, and a natural leader As an athlete, I devote my time and energy to my daily workouts. In the last four years, I noticed my athletic performance has improved, a variety of training strategies produced excellent results, and I have increased my advantage over the competition In addition to being a great athlete, I also have the heart to serve others During the holiday season, my family and close friends organized and gathered essentials such as food, blankets, and hygienic necessities to provide the homeless with items that met their immediate needs during the winter season I also participated in the Salvation Army Ring the Bell charity event with my teammates I assisted my mentors with charitable events ranging from fundraisers to visiting patients in the nursing home for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Lastly, I served as a board member for McKenzie's Helping Hands, an organization committed to gathering essentials for children in need in our community I feel proud that I contributed to a good cause when I served others.
Athletically, I am always eager to participate in the in-season and off-season activities. I have fantastic listening skills, which enable me to execute the task assigned. In addition, I pay attention to detail to make sure I am progressing versus undervaluing opportunities to develop my skill set. I won the Student-Athlete of the Year for my athletic program this past year.
My goals are within reach and that makes me excited and driven. My coaches have been one of my greatest cheerleaders and often share they see greatness in me. My hope is that there is a university that believes the same and will allow me to join their program to push me to greater heights.
