I have been competing in the sport of track and field for five years now. Entering into high school, I decided to quit basketball, tae kwon do, swimming, gymnastics, and all other sports that I was involved in in order to focus on track and field. I knew it would be the right sport for me when I received compliments from my track and field club coaches that I was already a natural. I learned to find specific events that worked with my abilities based on prior sports. High jump has been my primary event since the beginning of my career and I have recently begun and succeeded in triple jump. Jumps are basically my priority but, when I am running, I usually work best in the 400 meter dash. So far in my career, I have traveled and competed at state and national meets, indoor and outdoor, that have helped with my exposure and competitive skills.
I am also a well rounded and dedicated student who will be graduating out of the International Baccalaureate Program this coming June. I have maintained A and B averages in my high school/college level courses and I will continue to not only sustain this record but to also strive to be in the top ten percent of my class by graduation. Along with college level track and field, I plan to study a major in Kinesiology and later continue into medical school to study Neonatology.
