As a freshman I wasn't totally sure what to expect while running in a high school setting. I had been fighting an injury all season but worked as hard as I could. I felt that finishing 6th place in 100mH in 4A was a huge accomplishment to me, as well as finishing 12th in 300mH and had only ran that race 3 times.
My sophomore year I was ready to run and work hard knowing what to expect. I had started the season off as the 2nd best hurdler on the team and worked hard enough to end up as the top hurdler in the 100mH. When state had arrived, I finished 4th place in the 100mH , and 8th place in the 300mH in the 4A division. By the end of the season my times had improved with my hard work and technique.
In my junior year of high school I competed in 1 race and my times had put me in first for all of 5A in the 100mH and 300m hurdles. The season was wiped out by the COVID19 virus, causing it to end. I was disappointed that my season was cut short because I had prepared myself with a healthy and hardworking body, I was ready to succeed. This season my school had moved up to 5A division. It favored me to take first or second in the 5A state championships. Bring on my senior year!
At this time, my current desire in high school and to continue in college is to study to be a pediatric nurse practicitioner. I have observed my aunt and grandma as nurses and feel like it is something I would enjoy. My neighbor works at a pediatric doctors office and it intrigues me to want to work there.
I am a hard worker and apply what my coaches encourage me to do. I am a fast learner and I am eligible to compete on any level. I always want to do my best in all that I do, involving my athletics and my life.
