HI! My name is Justice Sarinana

I am currently a junior at Gainesville High school VA. I am captain of the throwing team, and a district, and regional qualifier in both shotput and discus. I have earned a 4.1 GPA, academic honor rolls, and the Cardinal Award (captain award for track). The throwing program at Gainesville does not have a throwing coach who can be present regularly, so when I started throwing, I knew I would have to learn how to throw on my own. Thats exactly what I did for my freshman year. I would watch videos and find drills on YouTube that would help me become a better athlete. My sophomore year I found a private couch that I met with once a month who helped guide me in the right direction. I started lifting and doing plyometric to improve my throws and performance. With the knowledge I have acquired from watching videos and talking to coaches, I have always done my best to help our throwing team grow and become better. I am a suitable candidate because when throwing seemed like an impossible event for me to get better in, I proved that thought wrong and continue to do so. There were days when I questioned if I was meant to do this in college. Every time my answer was "You're meant for this" so on the bad, cold, and rainy days I still showed up and did what I needed to do. I was alone a lot of the time because not a lot of people shared my passion, and I accepted that. I have a dream, and I am willing to sacrifice things like hanging out with friends, staying out late, and vacation to get there. I will forever be grateful for throwing because it gave me a family, they showed me how important it is to support one other and cheer each other on.
