As someone who likes being challenged physically as well as mentally, I'm very dedicated and competitive in both academics and athletics. I strive to do my best everyday, whether it's in the classroom or running. When running on a team, I am able to push myself to not only run my best for me, but for my team as well. Being the best for my team means doing the little things when no one is watching. During the off season I'm constantly training, whether that is running, biking, or in the gym. No matter what the weather is like, since Wisconsin is so unpredictable, I'm outside putting in the work for the upcoming seasons. Another crucial aspect of running on a team is leadership, which for me is very important. During hard and tiring workouts I not only push myself, but encourage all of my teammates to finish them with all that they have, especially if they are not feeling one hundred percent. When my teammates are lacking motivation, especially during the cold winter months, I host a run club in which we run together after school a couple days a week. This not only gets everyone in shape for the season, but it also creates stronger bonds and a family-like relationship amongst the team. This helps us compete better as a team and to run for one another. My hard work and leadership will also help me to achieve my future goals of medical school.
