Personal Statement
I work hard on and off the volleyball court. I have goals for my future career-wise, and academics are very important to me. I have a very strong work ethic, and am willing to work hard to reach my goals.
I had a region high 606 digs during the 2016 volleyball season, and improved to a region high 718 digs during the 2017 season. I am not afraid of hard work, and want to help your team win games at the next level.
I was the only underclassman to be named to the Dothan Eagle Super 12 Team in 2016, and I made it as a sophomore. My coaches say I have a good eye for the ball and am able to pick it up, which is why I tend to get so many digs as a libero.
I would love the opportunity to play club volleyball, and have been asked to try out by a couple of different coaches, but I attend a small 2A high school, and I also play softball. I am the starting pitcher for the varsity team, and it would leave my team and coach with no experienced varsity pitchers if I did not play. So, I opted to remain committed to my varsity team and my coach, who is also my volleyball coach. Coach Warrick knows my love of volleyball, but we discussed it, and I could not let her or the team down. I was voted team co-captain if my softball team for the 2018 season.
I am currently enrolled in college classes with Troy University as a dual-enrolled student through my high school, and have a 3.0 average in my college classes. My overall weighted GPA is 4.6. I'm confident I can handle the academics in college.
I know I could be an asset at the college level. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how I could help your team.
