I was introduced to the sport when I was seven and have been at it ever since. I want to continue it after I graduate in 2018 because it is a part of me. I feel that I could still improve after high school and want to bring what I have to the college court. I am different from others because of how close I am to the sport. It is a huge part of town life and the program in Gustavus has been successful for more than a decade. Our coach has high standards for us and pushes us out of our comfort zones, which is a huge part of becoming a successful athlete. To do great things, we need to push ourselves and do what we've never done before. That is how our team, the Foxes, won consecutive state championships (2014 and 2015). Also, I have the right attitude on the court. The first season I participated in, I learned that to win, one has to have a positive attitude. I struggling with that, but I understand now and that is how I was selected for the All-State Good Sport Team in 2015. If there was one word that would describe me, it would be competitive. I put all that I have when I'm on the court. I have one mission and that is to win, and I'll do whatever is required of me to do so.
Aside from athletics, I want to go into education. And I 100 percent want to become a coach. I want this sport to be a part of me for as long as possible. It is that important to me.
