My name is Shelby Reibin and I am a left handed, opposite hitter graduating in the class of 2025 from Westsyde Secondary in Kamloops British Columbia.
I have been playing volleyball since grade 5 and my passion for the sport has grown each and every year. I was selected to the Team BC Zone 2 U15 Okanagan Regional Team in 2022 and had the privilege of playing in the BC Summer Games. The experience solidified for me that I want to continue to pursue playing volleyball at the highest level I can. I am a versatile player with experience in a variety of positions including outside hitter for my school team, a season as a middle blocker for club and have played setter. I have filled any role my coaches have asked of me. I take pride in my attitude and work ethic. I bring positivity and leadership to practices and games. I frequently ask for feedback and work hard to make adjustments and improvements to my game. I was the captain of my U15 club team and in 2023 I played a year up and was a starter for the U17 club team that won gold in tier 4 at Nationals. I was named captain of the U18 KVA Club team and am player a year above my age group again this season.
My passion for the game extends beyond play and I have been an assistant coach of the grade 8, and this year the junior girls team at my high school. I volunteer to assist in the U15 high performance training offered in Kamloops. I am an honour role student, both academic and effort, and a part of the Leadership class at my school.
I am a multi sport athlete who plays basketball, soccer and ultimate frisbee. My goal is to play volleyball at a high level post secondary institution while completing my undergraduate degree.
Thank you for your consideration and time.
Respectfully,
Shelby Reibin.
