Personal Statement
Throughout these years of playing volleyball, I have learned to strive for improvement, manage my priorities, and step out of my comfort zone. I grew, (and am still growing as my level of play progresses) to the extent of competitiveness as a student athlete. What sets me apart from others is that I push myself fully in all aspects of life, and have a passion to keep on improving. I motivate myself to improve skill wise and mental wise however I can. I believe in hard work and know I have grown, in confidence, leadership, and love of learning. I give determination and full effort to all assignments, whether it is in class or at the gym, and motivate my peers to do so too. When it comes to practice or tournaments, I am always early and prepared, ready to play. At the end of the day, one of my core beliefs is that everyone comes to practice for the same reason, to play volleyball. The question isn't am I good?; it's, am I improving. It doesn't matter if you're the best or the worst at the sport, it matters that you bring your own passion.
Volleyball has helped me grow as a person, building my mental and physical strength. At times, it can hard to stay positive when stress comes into play, but the sport has also allowed me to realize the relationships and life lessons I have made and learned through coaches, teammates, family, and peers. It has taught me to become a better leader, teammate, how to perform well under pressure, and to keep on pushing through difficult situations. I strive to keep on improving. In college, I want to attend a school with high academic standards and a high competitive level of play.
