Personal Statement

I am a driven and determined student-athlete who is not afraid to put in the hard work. I aim to always give my best effort, so I can continue to grow and develop my skills on an elite level. Although I have only been playing competitive volleyball for two years, I have grown immensely in my skills at middle, and I am versatile in my ability to play outside and opposite. I play on my high school varsity team, and this season we took first in our conference and advanced into CIF playoffs. We are aiming to take it all the way to the state championship next fall. I play on a highly competitive, elite club team, and we are looking forward to an incredible season. In college, I plan to study kinesiology or exercise science as a path towards becoming a physical therapist in sports medicine.

A few things that set me apart are my integrity, grit, and mindset. Success is always amazing, and setbacks are motivation to work harder. My academic success is just one example. I spent much of my childhood as a competitive dancer, which offered me a multitude of life skills over the years which are a valuable part of my volleyball training. While my dance background also makes me a stronger volleyball player in my strength, awareness of my body, and coordination, I also learned through dance the importance of mental strength in athletics. As I transitioned into volleyball, this is an aspect of my game which I was intentional in seeking opportunities to develop. For two seasons I have been working with a mental performance coach, and putting in this work has truly enhanced my game.  For this reason, I am passionate about the benefits of such training for all athletes, and I plan to incorporate it into my work in physical therapy one day.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
