Hello my name is Anisa Meraz class of 2024, I attend Edison High School and play middle blocker. I am 5,6 at the age of 17. I played volleyball for 6 years and will still to continue playing a sport I truly love. I first found the love of the sport when I was in 5th grade I would've never played without the help of my parents pushing that young shy girl into that sport and was the best decision they made me do! I was an all around player and captain for elementary and middle school. I enjoyed being captain using my voice and helping my teammates when they needed. I also earned MVP trophies for my 7th and 8th grade year for having good sportsmanship and having the best talents in that sport. During my high school I've always played middle blocker and sometimes hit outside. Middle blocker is my go to spot and enjoy playing fast pace sets my favorite sets to hit our quick 1's and I enjoy hitting slides I rarely hit 3's only when we need it and I also enjoy hitting back 1's. I am very competitive and won't stop until I reach the top, I am very very coachable I will do anything to make sure my coach know that I will do anything to make sure I stay on top. I also do very well in school I always remember I am not a athlete student what comes first is student athlete because without the mindset you will never have hustle for a sport. My academic years for high school is I've been in 1 AP class which was AP English Lang and look forward into more for my senior year. My major for college is communications to become a teacher or anywhere in the sports management to become a volleyball coach. My dream is to be one of the top models because I do find being a model fun and I always get good comments for trying to be one.
With my determination and hustle I can stand out from any crowd with my talents. Not many think much of middle blockers such as diving or getting any touches when middle go in back row, and I know I can do that because I've done it before and can do it many more times in any campus who would love me. Making me different from other recruiters such as one of the best defensive and offensive player is I can adjust and maintain easily. I would love to be in any of my favorite D1 colleges but would also love on being on any campus who would love me to be on there. I can have challenges as a student athlete but find my ways to make sure I get that challenge completed with any coaches help or knowing I am also very good at being independent and finishing it myself because in volleyball its not just you, you work as a team to get it done but to always remember to have fun!
