Personal Statement

I am passionate about volleyball and take pride in my performance and enthusiasm. I have been told by club coaches and directors that I always have a smile on my face, and they appreciate how I inspire others on the court. Every year, I aspire to improve my skills as a player and a teammate, and I demonstrate this at practice by focusing on every touch. I started playing club at age 10 as a libero, but now am a six-rotation outside hitter for both club and high school varsity teams. I earned Rookie of the Year honors as a 6-rotation freshman starter on varsity and was team co-captain and team MVP in my sophomore and junior years. I have also earned 1st Team All-League honors these past two seasons. As a Junior leading my team in sets played (87), kills (342), aces (62), receptions (464) and hitting a .235, I was the runner-up for League MVP. I am also a captain for ACT Volleyball Club’s 17U-1 team coached by Jim Polster in Yorba Linda.

In college, I aspire to play for a competitive volleyball team with goals of competing for conference and/or national titles. I also want to be challenged academically; grades have always been a prominent focus throughout my life, and I take pride in my 4.0 GPA and three-time Scholar Athlete recognition. Team culture is also very important to me — balancing competition with camaraderie, friendship, and learning. Playing on teams has given me an opportunity to create amazing friendships and grow as both a player and person. Volleyball has taught me to challenge myself, set goals, motivate others, and thrive in adverse conditions, and I'm excited to continue that growth in college!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
