Personal Statement
My name is Hailey Grimaud and I go to school at La Jolla country Day in La Jolla, California. I am a good candidate for your team because I am an aggressive player. The last thing that I want to do is let my teammates down, so I will do my job to the best of my ability to prevent that from happening. Something that sets me apart from other players is my work ethic. After going through two severe injuries I’ve learned that court time is worked for and not given. You need to earn a spot on the court by giving it your all every ball, every point and every play. I tend to be very loud and energetic because I love cheering on my teammates during tough situations. My family comes first and my teammates are my family. So, you would be able hear me from far away when I’m cheering them on.
I’ve been playing sports my entire life but started playing volleyball when I was around 11 or 12 years old. Before volleyball I was playing tennis and actually wanted to go to the Olympics. Once I switched sports, I still had that drive to play at a higher level. That’s why I want to play in college. I want to continue to push myself to become a better athlete.
