Personal Statement

My name is Parker Jones, I am a junior in high school, and I am interested in attending a top academic school and playing volleyball while studying for a degree in business or science. I look forward to a 4 year college experience and the fun of playing a sport that I love with a team that is devoted to succeeding and creating a true team environment. I started my volleyball career 5 years ago playing as a middle and as an opposite, however I am currently playing as an outside hitter. During the last club season, I played both as an outside and right side hitter. This past high school season, I worked hard to improve my skills and create a presence on the court and because of this, I had the honor of receiving the title of 1st Team All-League. I believe that I have greatly improved my skills in both the front and back rows, and I feel that I am a much more versatile and consistent player. I am very coachable and see myself improving with each practice and game. Team Player and Leader:  As an outside hitter on my club team, I feel that I am a team player on and off of the court by getting excited for our team when we are doing well and by bringing my team's energy up when we are not. I have been told that I show leadership on the sidelines as well as on the court by having a positive attitude, encouraging my teammates and help by picking them up when they are feeling down. Hard Worker on the court and off: I am privileged to work with coaches in our area during private volleyball lessons and by playing sand volleyball during the off-season to keep improving my skills and strategic thinking. In addition, I am an excellent student and work hard to make sure I bring home superior grades. I truly believe that nothing is simply given to you and you must work hard in order to achieve the things you want the most in life.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
