Being a student athlete, with so many family issues at home, has been really a challenge. From almost loosing our home to my older sister being admitted into so many mental institutions over the past four years has been very harsh on my family. My sister is better now, but because of her condition, I have grown to be the bigger sister, so responsibility was instilled in me at a young age and I know that is important in being a student athlete. Playing volleyball in college is my dream and what I can bring to the court is ambition, strength, positive vibes, aggression, determination, and most importantly love. All of these characteristics were what got me through those tough times , especially volleyball. Without these characteristics I know I would not be the daughter, sister, student, teammate, and player I am today. Telling you my story is very hard, but volleyball has always been my let out and my passion for the sport is unlimited, so playing on a college or university team will definitely never be taken for granted because I want to make my sister and family proud.
