Personal Statement
At the center of my life lies my deepest passion—sports. No matter the activity, I believe patience and hardwork are the foundations of a successful team. Beginning at the early age of eight, I began playing volleyball. I started with the local Parks and Recreation league in Santa Clarita, California. From there, my love for the sport blossomed. Quickly maturing as a center and opposite player, my skill sets opened a plethora of opportunities, including a spot on Valencia High School’s competitive freshman volleyball team. However, during my first year of playing, I never really stood out among my teammates as a crucial member and found myself lacking in playing time. Despite the adversity, I was motivated and spent countless nights memorizing rotations. Months later and by mid-season freshman year, I became a starter. In addition to athletic achievements, I plan to continue maintaining a minimum 4.3 GPA with a plan to major in nursing. It is my tenacious, grit-like attitude and intellectual vitality, that makes me a valuable asset to any collegiate volleyball team.
