My goal is to attend a four year institution to explore and dive deep into my passions to cultivate a defined career path within the field of psychology leading to a masters degree in occupational therapy, build new relationships, actively embrace opportunities for personal growth, and proudly represent my institution as a collegiate athlete. I aspire to to play volleyball at the collegiate level to push myself to compete at a higher level, develop stronger leadership and discipline skills, and undoubtedly gain a lifelong team of friends and support system.
I consider myself an ideal candidate as my coaches have told me that what really stands out is my kindness and team oriented mindset, I'm a good communicator about what the team is thinking/feeling, I have a truly selfless way of helping my teammates, I have helped my coach improve as a coach so they could understand what was going on in player's/the team's heads, and my team relies on me to bring them together. I just want to be part of making my team feel like a bonded family-like unit. I take pride in my work ethic and positive perception of challenge and defeat, whether academically or athletically, as I know in the end, I would have never learned as much going down the easy road. As a player, I lead by talking on the court and consider it my responsibility to improve for myself and for my team as a whole.
What sets me apart from other recruits is that I'm a supportive and committed teammate on and off the court. If my teammate asks for help to get some extra reps in or just a study partner for motivation, don't ask me twice. It's a good chance, I might already be in the gym or in the library. I have no doubt that volleyball has made me a better individual as a whole including adaptability, communication, and time management skill. I have also learned I am a fighter, a leader, and the only limits are the ones I set for myself. Although I'm only 5''3'' tall, don't be surprised if you see me setting, playing middle or outside on occasion if one of my teammates is injured or my coach just wants to change it up and have a little fun. I will play wherever and whenever I'm needed with a positive attitude and a smile!
