As I turned 11, it began to dawn on me that Soccer was not the sport for me. My best friend dragged me to her Volleyball tryouts that year, and I’ve been looking forward to each upcoming practice for the 6 years that have followed. Volleyball quickly became a huge part of my life as my closest family and friends picked it up with me. When my Dad started playing, we entered a Father-Daughter Tournament, and to this day haven’t missed one since!
Volleyball has given me a constant that has helped me find normalcy in times of change and challenge, fitness in times of quarantine, and has led me to meet some incredible mentors and peers.
I’ve developed stronger skills in every year of my 10 years playing team sports, and some of my strengths include my mental game, my ability to be a leader, and my competitive mindset. I make personable relationships with my peers, and find value in even the smallest moments and perspectives each person in my life brings to me.
I look forward to bringing these qualities to a Division 3 school team. While my school work will always come before volleyball, college volleyball is the next step I wish to take to continue competing and getting better at the sport that I love!
