I have been playing volleyball since I was twelve years old and fell in love with the sport immediately. I knew since my freshman year of high school, when I was captain of the Junior Varsity team, that I wanted to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level. I began working out to increase my vertical and strength in my legs, running to increase my speed, and practicing up to four days a week in order to improve as quickly as I could.
I never lose my motivation to improve and I am a very flexible and coachable player. I have a natural ability to lead people both on and off the court with support, motivation, and leading by example. I am aware I am not a tall hitter, but so far, it has not stopped me from being an effective player and athlete. Through volleyball, I have learned how to balance academics and athletics and being able to excel in both, maintaining a position on varsity for two years and a 4.0 GPA.
Aside from academics and volleyball, I am the President of my school's student government and on the board of synagogue's youth group where I write the newsletter and volunteer.
In college, I aspire to play volleyball at a competitive level and excel in the major that I choose. I want to make a difference on the team that I am a part of in the most ways possible. Regardless of where I choose to attend and play, I will push myself and never settle for good but continue to strive for greatness.
