I would consider my junior year of my high school volleyball career to have impacted me the most. It was my first year on varsity and I hadn't expected to start, since there were so many seniors in line before me. However, certain circumstances led to me being the starting right side and occasional outside on our team. We succeeded not only as teammates but as individuals. I developed physical skills, like jumping higher and blocking better. I also gained mental skills, including being able to handle intense situations and overcoming mistakes. This has all prepared me to excel as a student-athlete at the collegiate level.
I'm searching for a program that will suit me both athletically and academically. The educational aspect of being a student-athlete is just as important to me as the athletic end. I not only believe that I have the skills to play volleyball at the collegiate level, but I also the mental ability to do so. This includes sportsmanship, mental strength, competitiveness, work-ethic, coachability, and leadership skills.
