Hi!! My name is Masina Ogbechie (pronounced ma-SEE-nah o-BAY-chay).
I was born in Camarillo, California and I'm the second oldest (and 1 of 3 girls) of 5 children. I’m now 14 years old and started high school (class of 2026!) at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, CA this fall. I play front row as both Middle Blocker & Right Side for my club team, Oaks Volleyball Club and recently had the opportunity to play up on the 15 Gold Team in OPEN competition at AAU Nationals in Orlando.
Going into freshman year, I am 5’ 11” and currently touching 10’ 1” for my approach jump. At the net, I have power, hops, good footwork, formidable defense, and setter hands. See for yourself! I am seeking the most competitive academic and athletic environment for my college experience. I am a disciplined and intrinsically motivated student athlete with ambition to major in Law and Business, compete for a team built upon a culture of success, and impact people after graduate school.
Having learned from the examples of both my father, Nkem Ogbechie, who played football at Stanford and earned a Human Biology degree, and my aunt, Kaego Ogbechie, who had a Hall of Fame volleyball career at Harvard and earned an Economics degree, I’m excited about earning an opportunity for admission into an elite university and reputable academic program while competing alongside great coaches and a talented team.
