Hi! My name is Chloe Riley. I am currently 17 years old and live in Castle Rock, Colorado. I grew up in a busy household with 4 children, including my special-needs little brother. At a young age, I learned compassion, responsibility and sacrifice while helping to care for my special-needs sibling.
I became interested in volleyball because my parents played volleyball as well as my two older sisters. To me it was a rite of passage to play the sport and I just absolutely fell in love with it. Always being very tall for my age, I began playing when I was 11 years old through recreational and foundation teams. Although, I did not start playing club volleyball until 2018 and I felt behind on my skills compared to the other girls. Determined to sharpen my skills and to play at a higher level, I immersed myself in private lessons, sports performance training and skills camps. I gave my full focus when on the court and even off by working on skills at home by myself. This training was mentally and physically challenging, but it taught me commitment, the power of a positive attitude and how to be very coachable. I was fortunate enough to be part of amazing programs, to have talented coaches and a supportive family. This experience helped me learn to overcome obstacles and to grow as a person, leading me to focus on becoming a solid middle hitter capable of playing at the college level. Most importantly, I have learned that in order to be a student-athlete you have to be committed, disciplined, and work hard on the court and in the classroom. I have a 3.55 weighted GPA, taking both AP and Honor classes. I also made my high school varsity team as a starting middle hitter my sophomore year. I have a great passion for volleyball and for being on the court. I also enjoy playing the opposite hitter position as well. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. Academically, I plan on pursuing a major in Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics or Biomedical Sciences. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
