Personal Statement
My name is Adelaide Schmitt and I have always wanted to play volleyball in college. I am dedicated to the work that comes along with the game, and I am willing to do anything to grow as a person and an athlete.
I have also endured two ACL and meniscus tears. One during my sophomore year and one in my junior year. Having to stop my life completely and pause playing the sport that I love took a toll on me. But I rehabbed both of those injuries to the best of my ability and I am now able to play my senior year of high school! Encountering those challenges made me realize the true strength that I have in myself that I other wise may not have found. I learned how to be consistent and that working hard leads to the bigger overall picture. Although it has been the hardest two years of my life, I am ultimately grateful for the lessons that I have learned in growing as an athlete and a person.
I love to be academically and athletically challenged, and I know that I can come out better from it. I have a great support system and I am excited to continue my life as a devoted athlete and student.
