I am a Freshman at Discovery Canyon HS where I serve as a 2-sport athlete and take pride in being a dedicated student and athlete. I play both vollyeball and soccer at my high school. During middle school, I played middle school volleyball and basketball while also playing club soccer and club volleyball. I'm 6'1" and I am generally one of the fastest sprinters on all my sports teams. I have a strong work ethic and try to be a respectful and coachable player in all my sports. I place a high value on hard work, honesty, and kindness. Academically in High School, I'm currently getting A's in all my subjects while taking honors and IB courses. I have been tested and placed into the gifted and talented program since I was in 1st grade. I test very high in reading and have an extremely fast reading rate and LOVE to read. I enjoy singing and the arts, but also really enjoy math in school.
I grew up in an Air Force family until my father retired from the USAF two years ago. I have lived in several different states and have played on many sports clubs while we moved to new bases every 2 years during my first 12 years. Both my parents are former athletes and have put an emphasis on both fitness and education. My mother was her high school's all-time leading scorer for basketball, was her high school class valedictorian, was a Div-1 basketball recruit, and earned her Juris Doctorate at Duke University. My father was a high-school basketball and soccer player where he earned all-state honors as a goal-keeper. My father went to the USAF Academy and earned one of his 3 Master's degrees at Kansas University.
I'm interested in finding a college that will push me academically and that has a positive culture allowing students to be both athletes and scholars. My current intention is to go to Law School after college and someday become an attorney. I have high aspirations to attend a top-rated law school and want to find a school that will help prepare and propel me toward that goal.
Thanks for considering me for your programs, and I look forward to learning more about your programs and what your school has to offer.
