Kayla Konig '10 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'5" Senior at Pawnee High School in Grover, Colorado. I made the 1st Team All-State, League MVP, 1st Team All-Conference for two years, All-Star team, and made a state appearance in 2008 for the first time in our school's history. I have been playing club volleyball for six years now. I have also recieved All-Conference Honorable Mention for two years and have been a team captain for four years. My team leans on me for support and encouragement in the toughest situations. I am a very energetic and fun filled leader who pushes everyone around me to do their best. I want to go to school in-state because realistically the cost is the most important. I do not want to carry student loans around with me for the next thirty years. I do not mind traveling out of state. My dream school has been Hawaii University at Manoa, any school near San Diego along the California coast, then Kansas State University. I also like the University of Northern Colorado and Colorado State University (which I have been accepted to). Size, male and female ratios, or religion are not factors in my college decision. I want to go to a University so that I can get my BA in Psychology and transfer to another University to get my MA. I want to end my college with a Doctorates. I know that I will be in school for many years, so saving up and getting as many scholarships and grants as I can is very important. I am trying to recieve a position as a setter or libro at any college besides a DI school. I realize my height is not very tall, but my speed and volleyball skills make me a smart player. I also realize that with time comes your position on a team, and I am ready to wait for the right time.
