Mya Christensen '25 Recruiting Profile

Currently my collegiate goals are to attend a D2/D3 school that has a strong volleyball program, successful pre-med or nursing program and is located in a liberal area where diversity and equality is encouraged. My academic goal is to become a nurse practitioner and specialize in women's health with the goal of advancing medical research for women. I believe in working hard, being coachable, learning from mistakes and being accountable for personal growth. My current teammates find that I am uplifting, positive and someone they can count on for support. I believe that some players struggle with balancing their ego with what might be best for the team, but I truly believe in team above the individual. I am willing to take on any position and adapt my game style to what will best benefit the team. Going into high school after Covid presented more challenges than I anticipated; I struggled to figure out how to balance athletics, home life and academics. These obstacles taught me early on how to persevere and required me to learn time management, personal responsibility and the importance of strong study skills.
