Personal Statement
My first introduction to sports was playing soccer. I used to think that playing soccer would be my passion until I saw people playing volleyball and for the first time I truly knew that this would be the thing that I am most passionate about. Through volleyball, I learned how to develop my social skills, become a good teammate and a better leader.
I started playing volleyball in 6th grade which is really late in the big scheme of things. But, I realized that if I worked really hard to improve my game then I could be better than girls that started earlier than I did. I strive to become the best that I can be so once I put my mind to something I can either overcome the obstacle or I can reach that goal with high-flying success. It is crucial for me to find the best college fit for me both academically and athletically.
I recently have experienced a challenge both mentally and physically. I have no doubt that through this adversity I will become a better player and person both on and off the court. Volleyball has become a crucial part of who I am and I won’t be satisfied until I can achieve my goals.
