Hi! My name is Gabrielle Garcia, and I am a Junior at Key West High in Key West, FL. I have been playing volleyball since I was in 5th grade. However, it wasn’t until I was in 8th grade that I realized I wanted to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I am extremely passionate about volleyball and give it my all whenever I play. Volleyball is a huge part of my life, as I play year-round between club and high school. In all 3 of my high school volleyball seasons, I have been selected to the All Monroe County Team. As a freshman, I played middle and right side, and as a sophomore, I transitioned to being an outside hitter and was named Offensive Player of the Year for my high school team. As a Junior, I continued to play as an outside hitter.
One thing that sets me apart from other candidates is my ability to adapt. Due to my father serving in the United States Coast Guard, I have lived in many different places. This has given me the opportunity to learn to adjust to new surroundings. I feel that I am flexible and open-minded which contributes to better collaboration with others and being coachable.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me!
