Elaina Penrod '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elaina Penrod and I’m a middle blocker for Columbus North High School and B-Town Volleyball Club (Bloomington, IN). 2023 will be my 4th year of playing volleyball. My love for volleyball started in 5^th grade when my sister, Allison Penrod, was introduced to it in gym class. My dad coached my sister and I in a local rec league and I decided to improve my skills by attending volleyball camps later that summer. At my first Indiana University volleyball camp, I fell in love with volleyball. I have played middle blocker because of my height and ability to direct people of the court. I played all around for my club teams and primarily MB for high school.

My main strengths on the court include the ability to play all positions, transition well, know where to be, direct others, be mentally tough, and to hit hard. I can tip, block, roll-shot, serve, set, hit, and pass. I am competitive by nature, yet encouraging to others, and confident in who I am as a person. I have the desire to grow in every way and strive to succeed in all I do. My goal is to play for a college that also allows me to find success in a STEM related career. On a personal note, I enjoy music, art, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.
