As a volleyball player, I am one who looks for every opportunity to improve. My high school volleyball career has been very short so far, but I've learned how important it is to be a team player and how I shouldn't just be playing for myself. I know how important it is to shake off mistakes and stay focused on the game because one bad attitude can bring other teammates down too. On the court or on the sideline, I will be the one cheering on the team and telling them good job or nice try. My coaches are always telling my team that a good attitude is the first step to winning, and I agree with that 100 percent. I stand out from other players because of my mental attitude. Coaches also notice my hustle and hard work in practice when I'm striving to keep getting better at the sport I love.
My other characteristics that contribute to being a good volleyball player is my responsibility and pride. I always set high standards for myself, including always trying to get straight As on my report card while handling being in two sports in the winter (I also participate in basketball while I'm playing for NIVA). I'm also one who takes responsibility for everything I do. When I'm given consequences there will be no questions asked and no excuses, I'll just do what I'm asked to do. No one will catch me blaming other people for my mistakes either. I think these are the characteristics that would be important to have on a team full of players who all want to strive to get better together.
