Kelley Lacey '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9,left handed senior, from Indiana. I started playing volleyball in the fifth grade. I have played every position in my career. This off season I am focusing on right side and setting since we have several defensive players on our team. I have been called upon to play back row during some of the tournaments this year. During the off season last year I focused on back row. As a Freshman I have been a starter on the varsity team. The last three years I have been the speaking captain. This year I have taken on the additional responsibility of being the team leader and motivator. We finished this season with the best record for our school in the last 10 years. My senior year ended with my making the 2nd team All State team for Class A Volleyball and being selected as a member of the Indiana All Star Team. I have played of season every Spring/Summer and look forward to playing again this year. I began my off season career at the local YMCA (1 year), moving to Selma Volleyball Club (2 years), the Wave Volleyball (2 years), and finally at Munciana (2 years). Here I have found the competition and level of volleyball that I have been looking for. I would like to continue my play into college. I enjoy playing all positions on the court. I realize that each team has special needs and am willing to take on any role needed. I am willing to leave Indiana to continue my play of this game. I understand the level of play in college will be much different that what I have seen in my high school career. I also understand that it will take time to adjust. I know that I would be an asset to any team. I will be the third child to attend college. In fact there will be three of us for at least the next three years. I would like to attend a college where I could obtain a degree as either an athletic trainer, physical therapist or a massage therapist. Location and size of this college is not my primary concern.
