Personal Statement
I just started playing volleyball two years ago. I loved the game and had a strong passion and desire to play. I made my school team, I started, and I was the team captain. My coaches saw potential in me. I went to a big club in my area, and made a basic club team to get my feet wet. I was on the city team my first year, of club and wanted to advance. I worked hard in the classroom as well. I would go above and beyond, and would even ask to stay after school if I didn't quite understand something fully. My parents, both, are very successful individuals and not having all A's is not an option.
I attended Culver Military Academy for 2 summers for 6 weeks, and gained many valuable leadership skills. I learned about how to lead a team, how to be humble when you win, and especially when you lose. I kept up with my studies, and my relationship with God. I love to see others around me grow and I like to push myself on and off the court by doing everything and anything to be the best that I can be.
For my 8th grade year of school this year I made the team again, started, and I was selected as team captain again! We also received second in our middle school tournament. After that I tried out for the freshman team at Empowered Volleyball Academy. I made their National Team, and was the youngest one on the court. In school I mainly played outside hitter, but for club I played a little bit of everything. I am now confident in any position on the court, and have been playing beach volleyball to better my indoor game. I also do strength training and personal train with Kyle Radde, he's a prof. beach player. Some more people who have helped me with many positions on the court are the IPFW Mens voleyball team. I started my Freshman year with a bang. I started on Varsity, and helped the team front row as a strong outside hitter. Working with Empowered's Program has made me feel comfortable playing in any position given. I also work with William Robbins during club season and in the summer for Beach, and have done clinics with Lloy Ball.
I currently am excited to get back in to the swing of things. I spent my summer playing beach with many high school players and professional players. I look forward to club season and will upload video once I get my club season footage all together. Definitely continuing to work hard and push myself will be key. Starting as an outside hitter hes helped so much on Varsity, I love it. Sometimes I go in to play middle, and other times I am put in anywhere they need me for back row. I love playing and I try my best to better the ball every play and not make excuses. I have participated in many mental strengthening clinics that Coach William Robbins has at Empowered Volleyball Academy to help me stay mentally tough as well. I look forward to club season.
