Personal Statement
My name is Mackenzie Bengtson. I am a junior at North Iowa High School in Buffalo Center Iowa. My family consists of my mother, Vikki, my father, Bruce, and my younger sister, Kali. I have played volleyball since the 5th grade as a DS until my junior year when I moved to outside hitter. I participate in three other sports along with volleyball including; track, softball, and basketball. Outside of school and sports I love to be around family and friends, watch movies, run, and draw.
My collegiate goals and aspirations begin with attending college following my high school graduation. I will use the next four years to deepen my knowledge and develop my own values through my education and athletic experiences. During my college career, academics will be the dominant focus. Additionally, I intend to participate in collegiate athletics. I will continue to build my leadership, service, and character goals. These aspirations were ingrained throughout high school by my family, church, and sports. I am a team player, and my persistence and intrinsic motivation will benefit any athletic program. My ability to prioritize and effectively manage my time will provide me with the opportunity to improve my skills through extra practices, weight lifting, and training. My determined nature and tenacious attitude have benefited, and will continue to benefit, my performance on the court and in the classroom. I stand out because my love for the game is matched only by my determination for the program to succeed.
