Camilla Cureington '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Camilla Cureington and I am a sophomore at St. Scholastica Academy. I have been playing volleyball since 7th grade and have always dreamed about playing at the next level. Due to Covid-19 I transfered high schools and was unsuccessful at securing an eligibility waiver to play Varsity. I was crushed after practicing with the team all summer. Playing at a fast pace and practicing with people who have the same drive as me was something that I strived and worked hard for.  Thankfully the LHSAA granted me eligibility for JV and little did I know this would end up working out in my favor.  Being on a team with mostly freshman and a few sophmores allowed me to grow into being a tremendous leader for the team both on and off the court.  This leadership helped the team have a great season. I made friendships, including a best friend and learned that while some situations may seem like a mountain of an obstacle that with hard work, determination and patience you will shine. This experience has deepened my love for volleyball and  I wish to take my leadership, work ethic and sportsmanship to the college court.
