Hi, I am Brynn Swisher. As a young athlete, I started as a competitive swimmer. In middle school I played volleyball, basketball, and soccer for a Christian school. My interest in volleyball started when I was in 6th grade. I began my club career in 7th grade, as a middle and right-side. Early in the following club season I started setting and built a love for that position.
I’ve worked hard through the years; with a setter coach, enrolled in weeklong intensive summer camps, clinics, and open gym, where my skills increased exponentially. I started playing Beach Volleyball in 8th grade and have played both sand and grass tournaments. Though I’ve enjoyed playing in those leagues, to build my endurance and help become a well-rounded player, I found my true passion is for indoor volleyball.
For High School, as a starting setter in my freshman year on JV, my high school coach realized my potential and I was asked to play with Varsity for the playoffs. Since then, she has become a mentor and challenged me into my Varsity years. We play a 5-1 and we won the Regional Championship in 2021 and recently for 2022. That game can be found on my profile. I am #11, in white, for Bowie Bulldogs.
I am a reliable, supportive, and coachable player. Along with these qualities and being able to work well under pressure, they have prepared me to be a strong leader. As Captain I always motivate my teammates to play to their best abilities, keep their heads up, and look to each mistake as well as accomplishment, as part of their growing process.
For my college career path, I plan to study business management and potentially look to pursue physical therapy or kinesiology. I aim to complete my final high school year with promising grades. As I look back over my high school years, I’m thankful we made it through COVID and that a one year loss of a short club season and no high school season will remain a distant memory. I want to play at a collegiate level because I love the sport, I love the spirit and I feel I have a lot to offer a competitive team.
