Ayanna Pharoah '22 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball has always been a part of my life, and I'm very passionate about the sport. My grandmother, mother, uncle, and aunts all played volleyball either in high school, on the U.S.V.I National Team, or in College. In the summer of 2019, I was fortunate enough to play for the U.S.V.I Youth National team in the U18 CAZOVA Championship games in Spanish Town, Jamaica. As Captain, I helped the team capture the Bronze medal and took home the award for Best Setter. Playing with the Youth National team taught me how to be a better leader on the court. I met my teammates for the first time two weeks prior to the competition and had to quickly learn each other's way of playing and personality.  In December 2019 I joined the U.S.V.I Junior National Team in Martinique and competed in the U20 CAZOVA Championship games. The team was able to secure the Virgin Islands' first Bronze in the U20 division. 

I'm a hard worker and determined to be the best that I can be on and off the court. My goal is to further my athletic career in college while studying Biology or in the STEM field to hopefully pursue a career in the medical field.
