Volleyball came out of nowhere. Going into high school this year, I decided this would be a year to try new things and experience these next four years to the fullest. So in August of 2023, I went to volleyball tryouts. With very little prior knowledge of the sport, I went to my one day conditional tryouts and all I knew leaving the gym is that I had done my very best. When I was told to come back the next day, I was so excited and I realized how much fun I had just had. Over this season, I have learned so much and grown so much as a player and volleyball has truly become a passion. I have learned how to adapt into different roles such as setter or right-side and I have learned how to be a leader on this team. Something that sets me apart from the average volleyball player is my adaptibility. While I am 5'9 and considered relatively tall, I didn't let myself be cast in the typical position of a tall girl but I learned how to set and defend so I could expand my skillset. I have developed a love and excitement for this sport and I can't wait to see where the next four years take me.
