My name is Maggie Wolf, and I am a junior at Community High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As Community does not offer large ensemble music and sports programs, my school district allows me to dual enroll at Huron High School, where I am a setter on the Varsity volleyball team. Though Community does not offer AP or Honors classes, the curriculum is diverse and challenging. Additionally, I have the opportunity to not only take AP and IB classes at Huron, but also to enroll in college level courses at the University of Michigan.
I have a strong passion for learning and exploration. It is for this reason that I aspire to attend a highly selective college that emphasizes academic discovery and achievement. While I am still undecided in my major, I have varied interests and a love for learning languages. I was the only sophomore to take AP Spanish at my school last year, and I am continuing my Spanish studies at the University of Michigan this year. As an undergraduate, I hope to have the opportunity to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country to further my understanding and knowledge of Hispanic culture.
On and off the court, I rely on my strong work ethic to achieve my goals and further develop my volleyball skills. I am an energetic leader on both my club and varsity teams. At the same time, I also help my teammates stay calm and focused during high pressure moments. I believe in the importance of building strong relationships when working with others, and it is my dream to be a part of and contribute to a competitive college program that values honesty, hard work, and commitment.
