Hello, my name is Kenna Meyers. I'm a 5'9, 155 lbs right side hitter who can play outside too. Playing in junior high school I was a middle hitter and was a middle up to freshman year. During the end of my j.v. freshman season I got pulled up to the varsity level, where I played in a couple tournaments and supported my team through districts. Sadly, sophomore year I couldn't play the sport I loved due to a tendon issue which put me out for a whole season and eventually led me to surgery. After surgery when I was able to I played softball which was my "comeback" sport. Softball is something I love and I have been playing the sport since elementary school. I played travel softball this past summer while conditioning for varsity volleyball. Coming back to high school volleyball after taking a year off was a feeling I will never forget. I ended up becoming a starter and during districts I received TVC honorable mention.
Not only do I play volleyball for school I've been playing travel for 4 years where I've played a number of positions as middle, right side, outside, setter, and defensive specialist. I am willing to play where ever to benefit the team. I also help out with a local AAU travel team in my free time. I've been assisting the team for 2 years now. Where I have seen all the girls improve not only their skills but also their love for the game has grown tremendously. When it comes to volleyball and any team I always make sure the girls have smiles on their faces and always are in a good mood. Volleyball isn't an individual sport and you need your team to become one to be able to be successful. I don't just look at my team high school or travel as a whole bunch of random girls I really look at them as my family. I know no matter the situation they have my back just like I have theirs.
