I am currently a sophomore on varsity at Fowler High School. At first, it took me a while to catch up to the fast pace practices and games. Once I understood my position, I was able to play to my full effect as a middle/outside hitter and back row player. My freshman year, I was on JV so I could develop as a hitter and passer and just understand the game of volleyball. On JV, I improved so much throughout the year by working hard so I could earn my spot on varsity this year.
My goal is to reach a D2 school that has a solid volleyball team as well as an appropriate academic program. I never thought I'd be good enough to play college volleyball, but once I realized how much potential I have, I knew I could make it with dedication, endurance, and hard work.
What makes me different from all the other athletes is that I play three sports. My freshman year I was moved up to varsity in basketball as a secondary point guard and this year I will be the starting point guard only as a sophomore. Towards the end of the softball season, I was moved up to varsity to play left field and will be the starting center fielder this year. I am a solid athlete and I learn so much from watching others and taking advice from my coaches. Also, while in all these sports, I maintain a 4.0 GPA. It takes a lot of endurance, but I am more than willing to keep my GPA up at a 4.0. I am a hard worker and I don't give up easily. Sports and education are very important to me and I'm hoping I can find a college that can offer both a suitable volleyball and academic program.
