Shelby Budnick '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Shelby Budnick, and I am a libero and defensive specialist. I have played on the varsity volleyball team at Fraser High School since my freshmen year. Additionally, I've played five years of club volleyball at Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy. Along with volleyball, I grew up playing soccer and made the varsity soccer team as a freshmen. However, after my freshman year, I realized that if I wanted to be the best I would have to fully commit myself to volleyball in order to achieve my goal of playing at the collegiate level. Playing soccer has helped me build speed, strength and endurance, and this has carried over to my volleyball performance. Throughout my volleyball career, I have had the opportunity to play every position on the court, which has given me more knowledge and experience about the game. Volleyball continues to bring out the best in me, for I've learned that I can be ambitious, positive, and a team leader.  I hope to continue my education at the higher level as well as furthering my volleyball career.
