Monica Freeman '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Monica Freeman. I have played volleyball for Cardinal Mooney Catholic in Marine City,MI for the past 3 years. I have been on Varsity for the past 2 years. Last year I was promoted to co-captain as a junior and I still hold that title as a senior.Last year I helped lead my team to our 4th consecutive District Championship and our first ever Regional Championship. I have played club ball for the last 3 years as well. I play for Rising Stars Volleyball Club, which is based out of Port Huron.For school I play all around, specifically middle and right side. For travel I play all around and outside. I love being able to hit from all positions in the front because I believe makes me a more flexible player.

I would love to play volleyball in college because it's my favorite sport. I'm always willing to play and I love playing against people with more experience because I know I can learn a lot from someone who has been playing longer than I have. I can't not imagine playing volleyball in college because I have been playing it for the past 5 years of my life, and if I stopped something would be missing from my life.

Academically, I have a 4.1 unweighted GPA and scored a 27 on my ACT. I plan to retake the test in October to see if I can get a higher score. I always challenge myself in school by taking various Honors classes for the past 2 years and taking 3 AP classes this year.

Being able to pursue a career in the Graphic Arts while being able to play collegiate ball would be a true honor and blessing. Thanks for taking time out of your day to look at my profile! Good luck with your season!
