My name is Jackie Verseman and I am 5'11" and 200 lbs. During my freshman year I was a starting JV outside hitter and worked my way into a starting Varsity position on the right side. The Varsity team I played on made it to the State Championships and placed second. As a freshman, I earned many awards including All-Conference 2nd Team, All-Region Honorable Mention, and All-State 2nd Team. I felt very privileged to have such a wonderful experience during my freshman year. My sophomore season I was a starting right side hitter on the varsity squad. We were District Champions but fell a few games short of State, losing at Sectionals. I was awarded All-Region 1st Team, All-District Team, and All-Conference 2nd Team. During my junior year, I was a starting MH and our team ended up losing the district championship game. I earned 1st team All-District, All-Region, and All-Conference awards along with 2nd team All-State. In December of 2015, I was selected to be a part of the AVCA Phenom Program and participated in the program in Nebraska which was coincided with the NCAA Final Four. My favorite part of that experience was meeting and talking with Former Olympian Stacy Sykora. She is truly an amazing person to look up to and has many motivating stories to tell about her volleyball career and her appreciation for life.
I would consider myself a hard worker on the court as well as in the classroom. I maintain a 3.9 GPA and am in many clubs/extracurricular activities including Band, Choir, Track & Field, Basketball, Volleyball, Team Spirit Treasurer, Spanish Club, and Sodality Junior Representative. I am very motivated to succeed academically as well as athletically during high school and college. As of my plans for the future, I would like to work with children and also become a volleyball coach so that I can teach kids how to love the sport as much as I do. My family would consider me to be very committed to my interests and values and I am open to new experiences.
