Personal Statement
Volleyball is in my blood. My grandmother, mother, older sister, and older brother played volleyball in elementary, high school, and on club teams. My first experience on a volleyball court was when I was six years old and was a sub for my older sister’s fourth grade school volleyball team. The adrenalin rush I got from getting my serve over the net or having a good pass is a feeling I want to achieve every time I step on a volleyball court. My older sister and brother have taught me the skills, attitude, and love for volleyball needed to achieve that adrenalin rush. Through volleyball I have learned that I can achieve anything I put my heart and sweat in to. I have been a starting player for my high school’s varsity volleyball team since freshman year. My goal is to demonstrate to my coach my versatility in playing all positions in the front row and back row.
I not only give everything I got on the court but also in my academics. I plan to graduate high school with honors and be prepared to be just as academically successful in college. Being on the volleyball court helps me overcome many personal obstacles I may experience. I also continue to learn more about myself and my skills each time I play volleyball.
