Personal Statement

Dear coaches,

My name is Madelyn Rogaczewski and I am from Saint Louis, Missouri.  I am writing to you because of my interest in playing volleyball at the college/university level.  I have played volleyball since the age of 8 and I consider myself an aggressive attacker with an energetic personality on the court which motivates other players around me.

Just to tell you a little bit about myself.  I am an OH/RS hitter for the Nerinx Hall High School volleyball team and for H2-STL Network Volleyball Club (Gateway Division).  I have played for High Performance - St. Louis Volleyball Club (HPSTL) previously for seven (7) years.  I have played for the JV and Varsity team in high school as a freshman, sophomore and junior.  I currently play as an OH/RS hitter for my club team - H2- St Louis, 17 Under Armor,  (#5).  I am 5’8” and have an approach touch of 9’4”.  I have competed in the Open, National, American and Patriot divisions for several years,  during  club play.  In the 2017 GJNC I competed in the Patriot Division where my team, HPSTL - 16 Orange, placed third.  I believe I am very energetic and I have an aggressive hitting style.  I believe in a “together we are a team” playing philosophy. I was awarded the “Best Offensive Player of the Year” by my high school coaches the Fall 2016 high school playing season.

As a student, I am a hard worker and advocate for myself when assistance is needed.  I plan on taking the SAT/ACT during my junior school year.  Besides volleyball, I am first chair trumpet player, and I am fluent in multiple other instruments including the French horn.  My potential degree pursuits are not solidified at this time, however they include the field of biology, physical therapy and education.

I would love to have you watch me play and the possibility of being a part of your team in 2019. If there is anything I can do to help you decide whether I might be a good fit for your program please do not hesitate to contact my coaches at H2-STL Network Volleyball Club.

Thank you very much for your time.

Sincerely,

Madelyn M. Rogaczewski/V.B. Athlete
