Personal Statement
My love for volleyball sparked in seventh grade when I went to as many of the home varsity games as I could to watch them play. That years varsity team won state and I fell in love with the way they played. They had great team chemistry, they were smart, and played with a winning mindset. I was especially inspired by the setter who now is very successful in her college career. She was a natural leader, she was smart, and she was diligent. Watching her play greatly shaped me into the setter and the athlete I am today. Since then I have strived to play a higher level volleyball.
Volleyball has taught me how to be leader, how to rely on my teammates, and has helped me to overcome adversity. I have learned to persevere through the highs and lows and how to respond in moments of pressure and disappointment. Most importantly, volleyball has helped to grow in my faith and has given my several opportunities to share the love of Christ. Lord willing, I would love to continue my career at a faith-based college that will encourage me and prepare me for a life of discipleship.
