Personal Statement
When I started volleyball my freshmen year of high school I was terrified. Starting a new sport at a new school was way out of my comfort zone, I had never been an athlete before. I quickly realized that if I wasn't going to be the best skill wise then I had to set myself apart from the rest some other way. I made a decision that my attitude and effort would make me shine, my coaches never saw me with my head down. I uplifted my teammates no matter the score and no matter my mood. I have consistently been a team player and that is what got me to where I am. After many hours at open gyms, in the weight room, and playing for club teams I have become a player that is not only technically sound, but mentally clear and that is what I believe makes me an athlete worthy of playing at the next level.
