Personal Statement
My name is Brooklyn Kohmetscher and I am an expected 2021 graduate from Blue Hill High School in Blue Hill, Nebraska. I am a 5’10”, six rotation outside hitter on Blue Hill’s Volleyball Team.
On the court, I have been a six rotation starter the past three years, and I have played both outside hitter and right side hitter. Last year, I contributed to Blue Hill’s 2018 Class C-2 State Championship title and a 32-2 record as a right side. I was honored state all-tournament team along with awards from the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World Herald. This year, I have been moved to an outside. I received All-Conference 2nd team, Lincoln Journal Star All-State Honorable Mention, and Omaha World Herald All-State Honorable Mention.
I have played club volleyball for South Central Volleyball Club based out of Aurora, Nebraska since I was 12 years old playing on a 13’s team. As the age 13, playing in the 14’s division, my team got 3rd place at the Kansas City Show Me National Qualifier in the American Division. I have played on South Central 13’s, 14’s, 15’s, and 16’s Black. This year, I made the South Central 17’s Black.
Off the court, I have a 4.0 GPA, and I am ranked 3/31 in my class. I am active in many extracurricular activities such as basketball, track and field, FFA, FBLA, FCA, Dance team, Mentoring Works, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, I am involved in Youth Group, 4-H, Blue Hill Betterment Grant Committee, and Club Volleyball.
Although I am at the moment still undecided on what I want to major in in college, I have been very interested in Exercise Science or Pre-Medical.
